WED WED WEDnesday: A little (too) pink…?

WOW – congratulations, you’re getting married. You’re going to plan your wedding, and it’s going to be absolutely fabulous. And you’re going to plan it from scratch, without thinking of what your friends, sister, cousin…did at their weddings. How fun is that???!!

This is the best part. You can choose whatever you want. WHATEVER YOU WANT!

Isn’t that amazing????

Even though many of us think that we are tough women with a strong character wanting something particular which has never been tried out before…

-when coming to choosing the color palette for our wedding we kind of tend to becoming girls again.
You know what I mean?

– PINK RULES!

Even if I consider myself a rocketeer, yours truly had chosen pink for her wedding, too. Oh yes, sir! (But that was because I wanted to surprise my hubby by acting in a feminine way – and not as the sporty girl I usually am! AND that was then, I’ve learned SO MUCH since – and I am not sure whether I would choose the same color scheme again. )

Now, where was I…oh yes, let’s get back to today’s theme: Every tone from pale to hot pink are taken into account when you just love the idea of pink wedding details. And every item from invitations and save-the-date cards over the wedding gown to the venue decorations, the cake and the lighting are to match each other.

And that is exactly the point. They have to match. If you browse around like I’ve done now, choosing a piece here and another there without looking at the design as a whole, it can easily end up like this post: A little bit of everything without a scheme tying the various details together. Lovely details, all of them, but together…well, maybe the overall feeling could have been better. Don’t you agree?

Some brides that I’ve been guiding towards their wedding have given me grey hair during the planning process, adding items that didn’t fit AT ALL to the overall design. I’ve had to make impossible adjustments in order to get a smooth and flawless flow in the various elements and I’ve had to make last-minute changes due to “add-ons”.

When you are in charge of planning other people’s weddings, you learn how to move like a cat – and if you fall backwards off the roof, you better turn while you are still in the air, or you won’t be able to land on your feet!

Well, dear friends, this is supposed to be it for today. We’ve seen an excellent example on how you shouldn’t design your wedding. ALWAYS have a message to deliver. It’s not a good idea to pick the details missing out on the overall look and feeling.

And that leads up to the point for next week: So how COULD YOU design your pink wedding? What kind of message could you want to give to your guests? What would the feeling of your wedding be? Let me just get you a little sneak peek of what we are going to take a look at next WED WED WEDnesday:

– looks awesome, doesn’t it? I love this detail – and there’ll be more to come in a week. So long!

Warmhearted – Elegant – Dedicated – Dreamy – ITALIA!
